Her Story

Savitha has been cooking Chettinad food since she was 12, learning at her grandmother's side in Karaikudi. Her kuzhambu uses a secret blend of 22 spices she pounds herself every Monday morning. She moved to Bangalore in 1998 and started feeding her neighbours — her subscribers call it "the only food that tastes like home."

Savitha Aunty's table night was unlike anything else. 10 strangers became friends over kuzhambu. The stories she told between courses — priceless.

I have eaten in some of Bangalore's best restaurants. Nothing compares to Savitha Aunty's Monday kuzhambu. Nothing.

My delivery arrives at 12:30 PM every day. I now plan my meetings around it. My colleagues think I have a problem.

Seven courses, four hours, one table. The rasam came out like a palate reset between dishes. Savitha Aunty narrated the origin of every dish — that's what turns a meal into an experience.

Savitha Aunty's cooking is ancestral memory made edible. Her kavuni arisi was the best sweet I've had in Bangalore. Signed up for her next table night already.
