The Story

โ€œUnniyappam are small, soft, round sweets made from ripe banana, rice flour, jaggery, and coconut โ€” cooked in a special paniyaram pan until golden outside and soft inside. They are temple food in Kerala โ€” offered as prasad in Bhagavati and Shiva temples, especially during Thrikartika. This version comes from a cook from Palakkad who grew up making them for her family temple.โ€
